What is Microsoft Teams?

A single pane of glass into your company's collaboration.
Microsoft Teams has really come into its own during the current pandemic, keeping dispersed groups in a central platform combining video conferencing, file sharing, work planning tools and persistent chat. People often compare Microsot Teams with Zoom or Slack, but the reality is that is has features comparable with both competing products, but it does both, and so much more. Which makes Microsoft Teams the only complete collaboration tool, specifically for working remotely.

What can Microsoft Teams be used for?

Within the Microsoft toolkit, Teams replaced Skype for Business as Microsoft's audio and video conferencing tool. But it's so much more than that, it's also:
  • Single pane of glass to all Office 365
  • Centralized collaboration hub
  • Conversations and wall posts
  • Connectors to show all your business apps (even 3rd party apps)
  • Voice and Video conferencing
  • Meetings internal and external
  • Live broadcasts
  • Private and group instant messaging
Microsoft Teams is the cornerstone of Microsoft’s modern workplace. It can be accessed online through the browser or an installed desktop application. Teams is built on Office 365 Groups, which provides a team of people a space for collaboration. It connects many other Office 365 applications such as Planner, OneNote and SharePoint, and has replaced other tools such as StaffHub and Skype for Business. At its core, Teams is a series of tabs that connect to other systems and pages, as well as an out-of-the-box instant messaging platform, with voice and video calls, screen sharing, external sharing, and collaboration. It’s easy-to-use and clean user experience is intuitive and easy to adopt.
